Hello! My name is Heather Schmillen and I am so excited to be teaching at Fountain Middle School as a Special Education teacher for my ninth year. I am a graduate of Ball State University (Indiana) where I earned a dual Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I then received my Masters Degree in Reading Instruction through Regis University here in Colorado. When I am not in the classroom, I spend most of my time hiking, traveling, cooking, gardening, reading, and spending lazy afternoons with my cat. I can be reached by email/phone with any questions/concerns.
Mrs. Katrina Overberg has been a teacher with the Fountain Fort-Carson school district for over 15 years. She is currently teaching Gifted and Talented Success Skills for all grade levels, which students with a formal Gifted identification attend for one semester each year of middle school.

She holds a B.A. in Communication and Media Management and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of Colorado. She also holds a Gifted and Talented License Endorsement.
Mrs. Overberg is a Teacher Liaison to the Space Foundation, where she pursues her passion for space sciences. She spends her free time chasing a million different interests – the weirder, the better.
